The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a free, open-source raster graphics imaging editor that is quickly becoming a strong challenger to Photoshop. GIMP may not yet be able to replace Photoshop for everything Photoshop can still do. But we can take one thing off the list (well, sort of). GIMP can, in fact, use Photoshop Plugins. Mar 26, 2019 UFRaw is a great GIMP plugin for professional photographers. It provides support for editing RAW images in GIMP, and you can use it to control exposure, color balance and temperature, and perform various image corrections. The plugin also has a batch workflow mode in which you can edit many photos at once. Download the Photoshop filter plugin (pspi) for GIMP: GimpPspluginsupport.zip. Note: This plugin loader is a 32-bit program, and it works only with 32-bit versions of the plugins, even if using GIMP 64-bit. Make sure you use the 32-bit plugins! Open the zip archive ('GimpPspluginsupport.zip') and copy the plugin. After you download a Photoshop filter, copy the 8BF file to the Photoshop Filters folder to install it. On Windows computers, that folder usually resides here: C: Program Files Adobe Adobe Photoshop (version) Plug-ins Filters If putting the Photoshop filter in that folder doesn't work, try this one: C: Program Files Common Files Adobe Plug-Ins CC.

- Step 1. Download the Photoshop filter plugin (pspi) for GIMP: Gimp__Ps_plugin_support.zip.
Note: This plugin loader is a 32-bit program, and it works only with 32-bit versions of the plugins, even if using GIMP 64-bit. Make sure you use the 32-bit plugins!
Open the zip archive ('Gimp__Ps_plugin_support.zip') and copy the plugin loader (pspi.exe) to the GIMP plugin directory:
C:Program FilesGIMP 2libgimp2.0plug-ins
- Step 2. Download and install the AKVIS plugins you want to use. Don't worry that GIMP is not recognized by the setup files.
- Step 3. Open GIMP and select Photoshop Plug-in settings in the menu Filters.
A new window will pop up:
Click on the first icon ('1'). The line in the middle of the window will be activated and highlighted in red.
Click on the last icon ('2') and choose the folder with AKVIS plugins (C:Program FilesAKVIS).
Hint: We recommend copying all necessary plugins (.8bf https://coolafil295.weebly.com/faded-mp3-song-wapking.html. files) to a separate folder and add just this folder to GIMP. Otherwise, an error may appear if the plugin loader finds 64-bit versions.
Press 'OK'.
- Step 4. After re-opening GIMP, you will find the newly installed AKVIS plugins in the menu Filters. They will become active when you open any picture.
Bear in mind that not all AKVIS plug-ins are fully compatible with GIMP which works with selections in the different way than Photoshop. Please check the table of compatibility of AKVIS plug-ins.
